Volclay’s Automated Additives Plant Turnkey Project Is Underway

The design stage has begun on the huge turnkey project for Volclay. Volclay, a major supplier of bentonite (clay) and minerals internationally, are building a new automated additives plant in Tianjin, China. The new plant to be constructed is expected to be fully installed and tested by the end of February 2009.

Mitchells, managing and executing every stage of the project, will complete all:

System design
Equipment design, manufacture, supply and installation
Structural steel design, supply and installation
Electrical design, supply and installation
Equipment testing/commissioning

Previously, Mitchells has assisted Volclay with safety upgrades to their existing multipurpose processing facility in Tianjin. With this project, months of addressing and rectifying safety issues were conducted by Mitchells and resulted in a series of platforms, stairwells, catwalks and explosion vents being designed, manufactured and installed.
